The Power of Leverage

Key Thought

This morning on my strategy call the keyword was leverage so that is my word for today. I decided to dig into that word and in our scriptures, and this is what I found.

God rarely begins with what you don’t have. He begins with what you already possess and places His favor on it.

The widow believed she had nothing. God saw leverage.

A little oil…

A borrowed vessel…

An obedient heart…

That became enough to pay every debt and create a future.

Leverage isn’t about having more.

Leverage is allowing God to multiply what you’ve already been given.

As I thought about my Lifestyle Membership today, I realized that’s exactly what it has been for me. It became leverage—not because it was magic, but because it created opportunities that multiplied my savings, expanded my travel experiences, and gave me more options than I had before. Just as God multiplied the widow’s oil, He often multiplies the resources we choose to steward faithfully.

Three Principles of Biblical Leverage

1. Leverage begins with what is already in your hand.

“What hast thou in the house?”

God isn’t waiting on something new.

He’s waiting for us to use what He’s already entrusted to us.

2. Leverage requires obedience.

The widow had to gather empty vessels before she saw the miracle.

Faith always acts before the multiplication comes.

3. Leverage creates overflow.

The oil didn’t stop until there were no more empty vessels.

God’s desire isn’t merely to meet your need—it’s to create enough that your blessing impacts your future and others around you.

Where have you been asking God for more when He’s asking you to leverage what you already have?

Your testimony…

Your experience…

Your business…

Your relationships…

Or even a single opportunity…

God specializes in multiplying surrendered resources.

Prayer

Father, thank You for reminding me that You are the God of multiplication. Open my eyes to recognize the opportunities You’ve already placed in my hands. Teach me to steward them with wisdom and faith so that You can bring increase for Your glory. Help me stop overlooking what You’ve already provided and start leveraging it to bless others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
