My Morning with God - Romans 12:16

✨ Devotional: “Stay Humble and Walk Together”

Scripture: “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” — Romans 12:16 (NIV)

💭 Reflection

Over the years, I’ve learned that true leadership isn’t found in titles or positions — it’s found in the way we treat people. In nursing, I’ve stood beside both CEOs and CNAs, and I’ve seen that compassion doesn’t wear a badge. It flows from the heart of someone who remembers that we’re all God’s children — different assignments, same purpose.

Romans 12:16 reminds me to stay approachable. To walk humbly. To never forget the hands that held me up when I was weak, or the prayers whispered over me when I couldn’t find my own words. God didn’t call us to stand above people — He called us to stand with them.

In this season of my life, I realize that harmony isn’t just about getting along; it’s about honoring the humanity in others. It’s choosing not to let pride block connection. It’s remembering that even when God elevates me — whether in business, ministry, or influence — I am still a servant.

The higher we rise, the lower we must bow.

❤️ Personal Takeaway

Every person I meet has a story. From the patient lying in a hospital bed to the young nurse just starting out, God places people in my path as reminders — to love without judgment, to teach without arrogance, and to serve without conditions.

When I mentor or coach, I remind myself that the goal isn’t to impress, but to impact. It’s not to show how much I know, but to reflect how much I care.

God honors the humble. And when we make space for others, we make room for His presence to dwell among us.

🙏🏾 Prayer

Father,

Thank You for reminding me to walk in harmony with others. Remove any pride that blinds me from seeing people the way You see them. Help me to lead with compassion, listen with patience, and serve with grace. May every encounter reflect Your love and every word I speak bring unity, not division. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right Spirit within me .

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 💜
