My morning with God: Proverbs 11:27

Proverbs 11:27 - Seeking Good with Intentional Optimism

The Verse

“Whoever seeks good finds favor, but evil comes to one who searches for it.”

Reflection on Seeking Good

This powerful proverb beautifully illustrates the principle of perspective and intentionality in our spiritual journey. When we choose to actively seek good, we align ourselves with God’s transformative purpose.

The Half-Full Perspective

1. Proactive Mindset

• Seeking good isn’t passive; it’s an intentional, daily choice

• It requires training our minds to look for opportunities to:

• Bless others

• Demonstrate kindness

• Spread positivity

• Reflect God’s love

1. Spiritual Rewards

• The verse promises “favor” to those who seek good

• This favor isn’t just earthly, but divine - a supernatural blessing

• Our perspective becomes a spiritual magnet for God’s grace

2. Contrast with Negativity

• Those who “search for evil” become trapped in destructive cycles

• Negative searching leads to:

• Bitterness

• Cynicism

• Spiritual stagnation

Practical Application

• Start each day asking: “How can I seek good today?”

• Practice gratitude

• Look for opportunities to encourage

• Respond to challenges with hope and faith

Prayer

“Lord, help me seek good with a heart fully surrendered to Your purpose. Transform my perspective to see Your potential in every situation. create in me, Lord, a clean heart, and renew a right spirit in me daily. Allow my mere presence to change atmospheres for the good. As I come in the name of the resurrected Jesus Christ, of whose I am in whom I serve to influence the environment so that no demonic forces can function within it. Let the Lord‘s love and light evolve from me.Lord we believe your Word and as we lift you up you will draw all men. In the name of Jesus we pray Amen!!
