My Morning with God: Philemon 1:25

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.” For a nurse, this verse can serve as a profound reminder of the grace needed in daily caregiving.

As nurses, we encounter patients in vulnerable moments, requiring not just medical expertise but also compassion and patience. Just as Paul extended grace to Philemon and his household, we are called to embody Christ’s grace in our interactions. This grace transforms our spirits, enabling us to offer healing not just physically but emotionally and spiritually.

Let us pray for grace to sustain us as we serve

The concept of forgiveness in Philemon 1:25 can deeply influence daily nursing practice. Nurses often encounter challenging situations, such as dealing with difficult patients, colleagues, or even personal mistakes. Drawing from Philemon’s example, forgiveness involves extending grace as Christ has shown us, fostering reconciliation and healing relationships.

By forgiving others, nurses create an environment of compassion and trust, essential for holistic care. It also frees the caregiver from bitterness, allowing them to serve with renewed spirit and love. Just as God forgives unconditionally, nurses can reflect this grace in their professional and personal lives.

Let us pray : dear, heavenly father,  we come before you today before we ask for anything we thank you for your love, your guidance, and for sending the Holy Spirit back to live within us. We give the Holy Spirit full access to lead us and guide us throughout our day. We thank you so much for all that you have given us. We thank you for all of your many blessings. We ask that you create in  us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. Father God, we ask that you touch our  love ones who are not well the ones that are sick in their bodies and we ask and speak healing in the name of Jesus. According your  Word by the stripes that Jesus took, we are healed so we speak healing now for them according to your Word Amen.
