My Morning with God : Job 37:5

“God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.” (ESV)

As I sit quietly with my morning cup of coffee, I reflect on this journey—40 years in nursing, raising children, guiding young CNAs, praying through long nights at the bedside, and comforting families in their most vulnerable moments. And yet, even with all that I’ve seen, one truth humbles me again and again: God does great things I simply cannot comprehend.

Job 37:5 reminds me that God’s voice—mighty and thunderous—can calm storms or stir them. In my line of work, I’ve seen life take unexpected turns: healing where doctors said there was none, peace in places filled with pain, strength in the weak. That’s not human skill. That’s Him.

At 64, I’ve learned that I don’t have to understand everything. I just have to trust. I don’t always get why some patients make it and some don’t. Why some prayers are answered in moments and others seem to linger in waiting. But this I know: God is doing something wondrous—behind the scenes, within hearts, and over time.

To anyone reading this, especially my fellow caregivers, moms, and women of faith: Don’t waste time trying to understand every detail. Rest in the truth that God is working, even when it’s unclear. His voice still speaks through thunder, through silence, and through your obedience.

So today, as I lace up my shoes and prepare to care for someone’s loved one, I walk forward knowing that He’s doing great things—even when I don’t understand them.

Let’s pray- Dear Heavenly Father this is a great day to have a great day . I thank you for the opportunity to walk out the path you have set for me . I am in awe of your greatness and generosity towards me. The way you care for me and my family is nothing short of amazing. As I go about today I thank you as you create in me a clean heart and renew a right Spirit in me! My love for you continues to grow daily. I pray for every caregiver, parent and patient that we have the ultimate relationship with you. In Jesus name Amen .
