My Morning with God- Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

A Nurse’s Reflection and prayer:

After decades at the bedside, I’ve learned that nursing is as much about waiting as it is about action. We wait for test results, for healing, for families to arrive, for the next crisis, and sometimes, for the end of a long, exhausting shift. There are days when my feet ache, my heart feels heavy, and my spirit is weary from witnessing suffering and loss.

Yet, in these moments, I remember the promise of God in Isaiah 40:31. I have seen firsthand how strength is renewed—not always in the way I expect, but always in the way I need. Sometimes, it’s a quiet moment in the break room, a grateful smile from a patient, or a word of encouragement from a colleague. Other times, it’s simply the knowledge that I am not alone in this work.

Waiting on the Lord

Waiting on the Lord doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means trusting that, even when I am at my limit, God is at work. It means believing that my small acts of care matter, even when I can’t see the results. It means letting go of the need to control every outcome and resting in the assurance that God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness.

Prayer

Dear Lord, as I care for others, help me to wait on You. Renew my strength when I am weary. Lift me up on wings like eagles, so I can serve with compassion and endurance. Remind me that I am never alone, and that Your presence goes with me into every patient’s room. From the impossible you will do miracles!!Amen.

Reflection:

No matter how long you’ve been on this journey, remember: God sees your labor, honors your waiting, and promises to renew your strength. Keep trusting, keep serving, and let Him carry you when you feel faint.
