Having work a 12 hour shift I was not able to be physically at church, but thank God for live stream and Replay. The message was so meaningful. Pastor Diggs really gave us a Word to take to the next level in prayer and time we spend with God.
🌿 Prepared in the Pit
Scripture: Genesis 37:23–28; 50:20
Theme: “They can take the coat, but they can’t take the call.” — Pastor Willie Diggs
💬 Reflection:
I’ve learned that favor isn’t just about open doors — sometimes, it’s about surviving closed ones. The pit seasons of life don’t just test you; they train you. They refine your prayer life, your patience, and your posture before God.
As nurses, leaders, and purpose-driven women, we often face moments that feel like “the pit” — overlooked, misunderstood, and waiting on the next chapter. But the truth is, God does His best work in hidden places. The pit is not punishment; it’s preparation.
Joseph’s story reminds me that people can strip you of your coat — your title, position, or comfort causing you to endure painful situations — but they can’t touch your call. When you carry favor, it follows you even into hard places. Joseph was still favored in the pit because favor isn’t tied to location; it’s tied to assignment.Even the pains of labor brings forth new life and purpose!
🔥 Key Insight:
The pit silences the noise so you can hear God clearly. It isolates you from people so He can elevate your purpose. Sometimes, He’ll even silence your circle — not because they’re bad, but because you can’t take everyone with you into the palace.
It’s in those quiet seasons that your obedience becomes your offering. The pit strips away pride, self-reliance, and distraction until all that’s left is dependency on God. That’s where true leadership is birthed — not on stages, but in secret places.
💖 Personal Application:
There were seasons in my own journey — as a nurse, entrepreneur, and woman of faith — where I thought I was buried, but God was really planting me. He was shaping my posture for the palace before I ever saw the promotion.
Every setback was really a setup. Every delay taught me to depend more deeply on His voice. I had to stop fighting the process and start trusting His plan. What felt like loss was actually the construction site of destiny.
So today, if you find yourself in a pit — remember this:
God hasn’t forgotten you. He’s preparing you. Your posture in the pit will determine your position in the palace.
🙏🏽 Prayer:
Father, thank You for using the pit to purify my heart. Help me not to despise the process but to embrace the preparation. Remind me that my favor is not canceled by my current situation. Even when I can’t see it, You are positioning me for the palace. Create in me a clean heart and renew in me a right Spirit! In Jesus’ name, amen.
✨ Affirmation for Today:
“I am favored in every season — the pit can’t cancel my purpose.”
