My Morning with God- Gen 3:1-7

From Distraction to Shame

My Pastor Leslie Eno Preached the unadulterated Word yesterday, well she always does but yesterday was so enlightening for me. When you read this passage you see how cunning and bold Satan is. First, he barges into a space uninvited, our mind. Then he offers us a distorted version of the truth that we do or do not accept. Because we haven't spent time in the Word we are weak and unprepared so we then begin to question what we know to be true. Now if you notice in Gen 2:16 - 17 God told Adam not to eat of the tree, but I did not read that he said don't touch it. Did you?

Eve's reply was exactly what Satan wanted to hear. At this point he had her going. Now she has walked by that same tree all the time, now that she has spoken to old slew foot she can't stop thinking about it. The more she thinks about it the stronger the pull and distraction is. Now not only does she take it she also takes it to Adam who God told not to eat and why and he does eat as well! My God today!! we can mess up when we don't spend time with God. A simple cast of the Word of God ( what God told Adam) would have put him in his place but how much time had Eve spent talking or communing with God?

It is obvious we need daily time with the Father communing with him and keeping this relationship tight! We are not a match for Satan and the World without God but with him, we are a force to be reckoned with!! Let us take a lesson out of Eve's distraction disaster. We can come boldly to God daily and learn of him. Then we are prepared for all manner of Distractions.
