My Morning with God-

Resurrection Mandate: Get Up and Go!

Scripture Reference: Matthew 28:5-7, 18-20

There is something powerful about Resurrection Sunday. We celebrate, we shout, we dress up, we declare, “He is risen!” And rightfully so—because Jesus paid the ultimate cost for our sins. He got up with all power in His hands.

But here’s the question that’s been sitting with me…

Now that He got up… what are we doing?

In Matthew 28:5-7, the angel told the women something that still echoes today:

“He is not here: for He is risen… go quickly and tell…”

Did you catch that?

Not just see it.

Not just celebrate it.

Not just post about it.

GO. TELL.

And then Jesus Himself seals it in Matthew 28:18-20:

“All power is given unto me… Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…”

That “Go ye therefore” is not a suggestion.

It’s not optional.

It’s not for just pastors, preachers, or people behind pulpits.

It is our marching orders.

The Resurrection Was the Victory… The Mandate Is the Assignment

Jesus fulfilled His part.

He carried the cross.

He bore the weight.

He defeated death, hell, and the grave.

But after the resurrection, He didn’t tell us to sit.

He told us to move.

So What Is Our Responsibility?

We don’t just honor Him with our lips—

We honor Him with our lives.

We don’t just shout on Sunday—

We show up Monday through Saturday.

We don’t just receive salvation—

We become ambassadors of it.

The Mandate Requires Movement

Some of us are still sitting in places God told us to leave.

Some of us are still silent when God told us to speak.

Some of us are still waiting for perfect conditions when God already gave clear instructions.

“Go ye therefore…” means move with what you already know.

You don’t need a title.

You don’t need a platform.

You don’t need a microphone.

You need obedience.

Get Up. Go. Tell.

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in us.

So we don’t stay stuck in fear.

We don’t stay stuck in shame.

We don’t stay stuck in comfort.

We get up.

We go.

We tell.

Final Charge

At City Worship Center today, we celebrate the resurrection—but we also accept the responsibility.

Because resurrection isn’t just about what Jesus did…

It’s about what we do next.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the sacrifice. Thank You for getting up so that we could live. But today, we say yes to the mandate. Give us boldness to go, courage to speak, and hearts that are obedient to Your call. Let our lives reflect Your power

and Your purpose. In Jesus’ name,
