My Morning with God: 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

“One Body, Many Members”

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12–13 (NIV)

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body… and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.”

From my Heart:

Today I seek your prayers . The healthcare field lost an angel this week through tragedy. She was my comrade in arms in healthcare. I honor Sindy , my friend and pray for her family as they weather the loss of this nurse , mother, daughter and friend.

After so many years in healthcare, I’ve seen the beauty—and the burden—of being part of a team. I’ve been the charge nurse, the mentor, the navigator, and sometimes the hands that held a patient when no one else could. But the more I’ve served, the more I’ve realized this truth: God designed us to function not as isolated heroes, but as a body— not independent but interdependent, spirit-filled, and moving together with divine purpose.

In every hospital unit nursing home , rehab or clinics I’ve walked into, I saw the spiritual parallel of the body of Christ. The CNA giving a bath is just as vital as the nurse administering medication. The janitor who prays silently as he cleans—he’s a part of the body too. Each one brings a strength. And none of us can say to the other, “You’re not needed.”we are all needed and valuable in the body of Christ!

As a believer, this passage reminds me that no title, no level of education, no background should divide us. We are baptized by One Spirit. Whether we’re LPNs, RNs, or kitchen staff—if the Spirit of God lives in us, we are knit together for His glory.

So today, I challenge you—as I challenge myself—to celebrate every “member” around you. Speak life into the ones who feel unseen. Honor the gift of unity. And never forget: the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is flowing through all of us, empowering every part of the body.

Reflection Questions:

1. Who in your “body” or workplace do you need to honor more intentionally?

2. How can you foster unity in your team or ministry today?

3. Are you operating in your unique role with humility and confidence?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for placing me exactly where You need me in the body of Christ. Remind me that no role is too small, and no person is without value. Teach me to honor the people around me—not just for what they do, but for who they are in You. Help me walk in unity, speak in love, and serve with Your Spirit guiding every move. Dear Lord created me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me In Jesus’ name, amen.
