My Morning With God- Isaiah 43:18

✨ SHIFT — Isaiah 43:18 Devotional ✨

“Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” — Isaiah 43:18 (KJV)

There comes a moment in every believer’s journey when God announces a shift. It’s not always loud. It doesn’t always make sense. It doesn’t always wait for us to be ready. But it is always holy, intentional, and strategic.

Today at The City Worship Center, Pastor Diggs reminded us that God is calling His people out of the comfort zone of what was and into the stretching place of what is becoming. And Isaiah 43:18 gives us the first instruction to step into that moment:

Stop living from what God delivered you from. Stop rehearsing what God has already redeemed. Stop revisiting seasons God has already rescued you from.

A shift begins when we stop trying to drag old thinking into new territory.

In Matthew 9:17 Jesus says Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. KJV

🕊️ What Isaiah 43:18 Teaches Us About Shift

  1. Shift starts with surrender. The past can’t be your compass and your prison at the same time. God won’t let you stay where He’s already freed you.

  2. Shift requires selective memory. We don’t pretend the past didn’t happen — we just refuse to let it lead the future. Your testimony is not your tether.

  3. Shift demands a new posture. God is not just changing your path, He’s changing your pace, your partnerships, your provision, your priorities.

🧭 From Familiar to Forward

Sometimes the past feels safer than the promise. But God is not in yesterday — He is in your next.

Someone reading this is standing in the hallway between the rooms of who you were and who God is calling you to be. In that hallway, the enemy whispers, “Go back. It was easier there.”But the Holy Spirit is whispering, “Keep moving. I’m waiting up ahead.”

You can’t shift if you stay where you were wounded. You can’t shift if you stay where you were overlooked. You can’t shift if you stay where you were comfortable.

The anointing does not rest on what was — it rests on what is becoming.

🛑 A Prayer for the Shift

Father, release me from the weight, the worry, and the wounds of yesterday.Break every soul-tie to past seasons, past struggles, and past identities.Give me the courage to step into the unfamiliar with faith.I don’t want what was — I want what You’re doing now.I choose the shift. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🪜 One Step Forward

This week, ask yourself:

  • Where am I holding onto something God told me to release?

  • What old mindset is blocking my new momentum?

  • Which door is God asking me to walk through — without apology or hesitation?

Write it down.Pray over it.And then take one bold step forward.

💬 Final Word

Beloved, the shift is not coming. The shift is here. And God is inviting you to move.

Leave the old. Lean into the new. God is not done — He’s just getting started.
